Mazorro Resources is a new tightly held junior mining
exploration company targeting gold, copper and silver
deposits in the western Mexican state of Sinaloa, around the
port city of Mazatlan. Mazorro’s flagship asset is an
option to acquire a 60% interest in the 8,195 hectare
Cimarron property located about 40 km east of Mazatlan in
the western edge of the Sierra Madre Mountains.

"Building on the Historic Resource at
Cimarron"
Previous exploration work has identified
at least seven high priority exploration targets. In 1999, Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL) drilled 25 Reverse Circulation
("RC") drill holes at the La Calerita target and estimated a
potential resource of 12.85 million tons of 0.501 g/t Au and
0.02% Cu. The in-situ mineral inventory was estimated at
206,998 oz Au. Until recent exploration work was funded by
Mazorro, the property has seen very little exploration over
the last decade.

The
drill data from Hecla Mining in conjunction with previous
petrographic work, has helped classify the Cimarron property
as a “Porphyry Gold Prospect.” Drill data from the property
exhibits a very low %Cu to Au ppm ratio, ratios almost
identical to the porphyry gold (copper) deposits of the
Maricunga Belt in Chile. The best known porphyry gold
deposit is the Rufugio mine in Maricunga, Chile, where
proven and probable reserves of 222,650 million tons at an
average grade of about 0.76 g/t gold occur in the Verde and
Pancho deposits.
